My name is Justin Burkhardt, and I am running for Richmond City Council At-Large! I have entered the race because I want to make a difference in our city and make Richmond a safer place to live and raise a family. Getting involved at the local level of politics is about the desire to improve things like transparent communication, economic vitality, community identity and effective management of our resources. As a businessperson and parent, not a politician, I will bring a business mindset to the Council, and through my work, help the city move forward on a better path.
I was born here and am invested as an entrepreneur. Throughout my career, I have spent my time utilizing my professional and academic experience to help our community grow. I am a member of the board of directors of the Boys and Girls Club of Wayne County and the former chairperson of the Seton School Board. I believe our future starts with our children! I also believe in service to others and that is why I feel the call to serve as your next At-Large City Councilperson. Our City is in need of transparent and servant leadership. The city that we call home, raise our families, and earn our livelihood has tough decisions ahead. My team and I will work to bring safety back to our streets and neighborhoods. We will work to give all citizens throughout our diverse city a voice when it comes to our community, and we will focus on our small business foundation which is what made us who we are to begin with. Together we can and will rebuild the Richmond Community that we can all be proud of.
